The River Glen Arbor Glen Arbor Kayak

Summertime work ain’t so bad

beck and finny off to work

Picture on left of Becky and Finn leaving our house for work just a half mile or so downriver.  5 year old son Finn has the green light to take out any of our kayaks, canoes, paddleboards or tubes.   One rule:  Lifejacket.  The Crystal River is extremely forgiving to those fortunates that happen to fall in especially in the heat of the summer.  Our number one safety rule if one does fall overboard is if you don’t want to drown, stand up.

The summer is going very well on the Crystal River.  We have had many a kid bring us three pieces of trash out of the river for a free round of Championship Mini/Putt Putt Golf.  The water temperatures are incredible for swimming and the levels on the river are floating all of our kayaks and tubes nicely.  Canoes are a different matter.  We do not recommend them right now as you will spend much of your trip dragging.

In any case, get down to the River, check out our maps and choose a kayak trip down the mightly Crystal River, play a round of putt putt, grab the latest and greatest T’shirt or rubber tomahawk in our trading post, play a quick game of ping pong or giant chess or pinball and make some memories.
